Majid Majidi assigned president of Cinema Department

Iranian Academy of Arts (IAA) has assigned new position to Oscar-nominated Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi.

‘The Color of God’ director was appointed as the president of the Cinema Department of the academy.

A lifetime of cinematic achievements by the world-known filmmaker will be of great aid to the academy to help develop fundamental research in all the areas of filmmaking.

Majidi’s office will be run at the Aseman Cultural-Artistic Complex (ACAC) which is one of the academy’s divisions.

The great cineaste has so far made various award-winning movies, the latest of which is ‘Sun Children’ that gained honors at the Venice International Film Festival in Italy.
